About the Author

Growing up, I was quite the geek, but I didn't know that. You would think that getting crammed into garbage cans, fed dogfood at lunch, and being squished out of a bus window only to land face-first into a cold snowbank below would have tipped me off, but nope! You see, even though I was somewhat tortured at school in my tween years, I had an amazingly normal home life. My parents were my heroes, and they made sure I knew just how fabulous I really was. It's that confidence they instilled in me that I want to share with the world of little Shelbys out there.

Today, I'm the manager of an IT team at one of the world's leading semiconductor companies. My work career has included a vast variety of roles, including technical writing. Seeing just how much you can empower a person through writing has sparked a new passion for me. I'm done writing procedures and help files. I'm ready to empower my readers with stories based on real events that made me who I am today.
