A sweet 'homemade' card for me from Miss Sarah!
Just happened to meet these two great ladies tonight. I was so excited to give them each a book, and to hear that they planned on reading it as they kick off their Spring Break with a sleepover! Thank you for your support, Marley and Zoey. :)

Giving the gift of story is right up there!
Covid has been tough... Especially for kids! Those little bodies have been cooped up for a decade (in kid years), those sweet smiles and rosy cheeks masked, and those curious, bounding hearts barred from adventure.
Imagine that a book signing for two tween girls would be a 'highlight of their year'...
A week or so before the book signing, an angel of a woman reached out to me. She wanted to bring a couple girls out and buy them a book each. She didn't say what, but it sounded like the girls had gone through more than just Covid lockdown, and really needed something to look forward to. I wanted to do my part, so I stashed a couple wrapped books aside for her.
When they showed up, I didn't realize who they were. But, then when they approached the table and their faces lit up, I knew exactly who they were. I filled out the To and From tags on the 'presents' and handed them each their own personal wrapped copy of CAMP ROMANCE. They told me they were looking forward to unwrapping something. I giggled, "But, you know exactly what's inside!" After all, the table I was sitting at was decorated in stacked copies of my book. They smiled and said, "It's fun to get to unwrap something!" In that moment, a lump invaded my throat and I actually had to fight some tears thinking that this was not a normal thing for them, even at Christmas.
After the signing, the woman reached back out to me and told me I had given them more than a book; I had given them a positive memory in a difficult time. In that moment, I knew... This is why I write!
Please consider donating children's books to book drives, women and children's shelters, libraries, and kids like these two sweet girls. The gift of story can touch a heart... Much like her story touched mine!
